About Me

Astrological Sign: I was born under the sign of Virgo.

Location: currently we live in beautiful Arizona in the United States of America.

Introduction: I learned the love of needlework from my mom and her mom. My mom taught me to crochet and knit. While I did not learn to embroider from grandma, I was influenced by her beautiful work (and luckily still have some of it). Both ladies were excellent sewers of clothes, but this sewing "gene" seemed to pass me. My mom encouraged my love of crafts and needlework by supplying me with kits and materials to try my hand at a wide variety of things. I remember playing with yarn and hand crocheting when I was about 9 years old. The rest as they say is history. Valhalla to these two fine ladies.

Interests: Stitching of course!! Techniques I enjoy include canvas, counted thread, pulled thread, drawn thread and cross stitch. I like to piece quilts, but not the quilting part, but do enjoy crazy quilting. I recently discovered wool applique and love it!! I also enjoy beading, card making, rubber stamping and other crafts that strike my fancy. I have also been known to read a mystery book or two.

Sun City Stitcher was originally established as Colorado Stitcher on March 24, 2009 to share my love of needlework and provide (yet another) place to exchange information. Plus maybe a little bit of life thrown in too! Well life arrived and my blog was lost, but re-established June 23, 2010 with a slightly different url (web address).

In May of 2016 we moved to Arizona and I changed my blog name, but not the url and look forward to many happy years here in the Valley of the Sun!

Thanks for the visit and please come again soon.
