Busy Weekend Purple Hearts Workshop

This weekend my ANG Chapter had a workshop for a piece by Toni Gerdes called Purple Hearts. It was a great class and once we got used to working on black congress cloth - good light and magnification is a must - we all seemed to enjoy the class. It was a pilot class to help her work out any kinks in the project before she teaches it in the "real" world.

You may see it offered under the name Hearts & Ribbons so it can be offered in other colors besides purple. She may even offer it on white and/or 18 count canvas. She plans to teach it at the April 2011 Heartland Region Seminar (EGA); at the 2011 ANG National Seminar in San Antonio, TX; and in January 2012 at the Callaway School of Needlearts. There was a bit of pre-work, which I got done in about 3 or 4 hours.

Here is how far I got at the end of the day Saturday:

That about covers it for now. You can see the finished project on Toni's web site underworkshops - just scroll down to the two day classes - it is the second one.
