March Stitching & TUSAL

I last told you about these two pieces of Easter stitching on this post. Last night I finished the Easter egg including the memory thread in time for the next ANG meeting on March 18 when we will learn ways to finish it.

The weekend before last I finish finished the bunny hop, but for got to post about it so here it is!

I mounted it on a 4" square painter canvas, covered the back with some heavy scrapbook paper, lined the edges with ribbon and made a bow for the top. Then I painted some wooden pieces for feet. It was not too steady on these feet, so I cut strips of the heavy scrap book paper to make a base.

That same weekend (boy am I behind on my blog posts) I dug out some Irish stitching I did and finish finished them.

I made the IRISH into a flat fold using the same shamrock fabric I used on the pillow. I did these many years ago and put them in a box. Nice to pull them out and finish them! The pillow was a kit from Dimensions or some sort, so no details. But I did it in hand and was it out of shape! I had to block it - first time ever - and it came out fine.

The one on the left is a Hinzeit mini block chart with charms called Irish.  I think that about covers it for now!!

Here is my ort report for the March 11 new moon. I took it with the window open and I think it is looking a bit blue because of the snowy weather. It is mostly full of orts from the Easter Egg above.

Wondering what thisTUSAL (Totally Useless Stitch-A-Long) is all about?? I have a link on my blog at the top left that gives more inforamtion, just click on it!

Happy March!!

  2. Lots of finishes! Nice to get them done in time for their holiday. I notice you have a lot of holiday and seasonal stitched items. How do you keep/store them when they aren't on display?

I'll be interested in seeing how you finish the egg.

most are small enough, I have a shelf in the linen closet, but if I start getting too many, I may have to get an under the bed box!
