Paperless Grocery Bag

I made this pattern from Coats and Clark.com for my niece, Laura. I did not use the recommended yarn, I used a Lily brand sugar n cream called lime stripes. I loved the colors as it came out and it was fun to make. The added joy of making this for her was that I thought of her while making in and I thought of my mom too (she crocheted with steel needles and fine thread).

I made this for her birthday which is in August and not knowing how long it would take me, I started it in December. Well, I had so much fun I finished it! So rather than wait until August, I decided to send it now. I did not keep track of the time it took, and guess around 30 hours.

Here is a link to the pattern if you want to make one for yourself. It is made in three parts and then stitched together and then the handles sewed on.

Now, what shall I make next?????

I got a crocheted market bag in the library stitchers Christmas swap. I love it. It's great because it stretches for the odd shaped items. I think your niece will love it!
