This past Saturday I broke down and traded in my Singer Genie (note the correct model name than previously posted
about) circa 1973 that needed a $250 repair .....
....for this brand new Pfaff Ambition 1.0.....
I ran a test drive and like it a lot. I especially like the duel feed dogs that move the top and bottom fabrics together and the space between the needle and the right is larger than most (8"). It is quite a step up, but a machine I can grow into and I hope will last me a long, long time.
With my new Pfaff, I finish finished a project from the Sampler Guild or the Rockies Retreat
- and turned the blackwork project into a tiny (approximately 2"square) pillow. I used my newly purchased 1/4" piecing pressure foot - boy was that handy to keep me in position! The pillow is pictured here on top of the fabric I used as backing.
I think that about covers it for this lunch break! Have a great day everyone.
Lovely finish! Love your new machine!
I should also add that part comes off under the pressure foot for free arm sewing and there are holders for bobins, feet and the other accessories in the part that pulls out.
Oh, my goodness, great minds think alike! My 1980 Kenmore sewing machine also stitched its last a few weeks ago. I ended up with a Pfaff Ambition 3!! The only thing I can't get to work is the automatic needle threader. Does your model have one? Any tips on how to work it??? Love it that we ended up with machines so alike :)
oh wow. Love the new sewing machine!
Gorgeous finish too :D
Lovely new machine and a great finish
Love your new machine! I have never had one and haven't sewn since highschool but I am seriously thinking of purchasing a basic model. I'd like it just for simple things like bellpulls and pillows.
Woohoo! a new sewing machine
Pretty blackwork pillow
Sewing Machine envy...... ;)
congratulations for your new sewing machine!! and beautiful blackwork finish.
